The move from bottle to can for Bilpin Apple & Ginger is disappointing. I understand businesses need to manage costs, but the product now feels noticeably downgraded.
The taste has changed, and one of the things I really enjoyed — the natural sediment — is no longer there. That sediment gave it a more authentic, real-apple feel. I also noticed the ingredients now include “natural flavours” and added water, which adds to the sense that the quality has been reduced.
Overall, the new packaging and flavour make it feel like a step backwards. What was once a more genuine, premium product now feels closer to another example of shrinkflation, where cost savings and profit seem to have been placed ahead of the customer experience.
